DAY 1 Naples and its history
October 10th
Guests arrive independently in Naples and check in at the hotel.
Guided walking tour of historic downtown Naples in the afternoon.

DAY 2 Pompeii and Vesuvius
October 11th
Our private bus will drive us first to the archeological park of Pompeii, the legendary city covered by ash during the eruption of Vesuvius in 79AD. After visiting the site with a guide, we will continue on to visit a winemaker (Cantina del Vesuvio) in the foothills of the volcano, where we will taste wines from the local Lacrima Christi denomination. Lunch included at the visit.
Return to Naples by bus. Rest of the day free.

DAY 3 Matera, the city build in the mountain
October 12th
From Naples our private bus will take us towards Matera, the UNESCO Heritage city famous for its ancient cave dwellings known as “Sassi” and today turned into hotels and restaurants. But first, on the way, we stop in the area of Irpinia and visit a legendary winemaker of Taurasi wine made from Aglianico grapes. Here we will do a vineyard and cellar visit and do a tasting with lunch in their agriturismo.
The bus will then continue on to Matera. After checking into our hotel (in a historical palace from the 1600s), we will do a guided walking tour of the Matera Sassi.

DAY 4 Bari and the sweet south
October 13th
Our bus will take us to Castel del Monte, a magical fortress built by the Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II in the 1200s. Visit the fortress with a guide.
Afterwards, we head to visit Bari and wander around the old town with its churches, shops, and winding lanes where old ladies still make “orecchiette” pasta in front of their doorsteps. Breathe in the inherent charm of the indolent South. Time for lunch on your own.
Return to Matera by bus and rest of the afternoon free.

DAY 5 Trulli of Alberobello and the ultimate Puglia food experience
October 14th
We start the day going by bus to the picturesque Unesco village of Alberobello, famous for its old farmer’s homes, the “trulli”. After having checked these very unique houses we will head to Altamura, the city of the bread where two nonnas are waiting for us to grant us the ultimate Puglia food experience. Here you will learn all you have to know about the local specialties, with some hands on experience and will try them all.
Return to Matera after lunch and evening free

DAY 6 Ancient buffalos
October 15th
By bus we are heading to Paestum today, but first we will stop at a bufala mozzarella producer (Tenuta Vannulo) to visit the farm and taste their products. Lunch included at the farm.
Continue on to Paestum and check in at the hotel where you guys can chill.

DAY 7 Greek temples in Italy
October 16th
In the morning we will visit the archeological site of Paestum, site of the best conserved Doric temples in the world, built in the 6th century BC.
After the archeological site, we will head to our hotel in the lovely seaside town of Sorrento.

DAY 8 The magic of Capri
October 17th
We will take a boat this morning to the spectacular island of Capri where we will tour the island and admire upclose the spectacular “faraglioni” and the blue grotto. We will then be disembarked in the town and you will have free time to wander the cute and fancy village.
Return to Sorrento by boat.

DAY 9 La dolce vita in Sorrento
October 18th
Day spent exploring the fabulous Sorrento on your own. This is your laid-back day on the southern coastline that you deserve. And then we finish with a Grand Finale of a cooking class plus group dinner learning how to make the real Neapolitan pizza and doing a tasting of limoncello.
