Italian on the Beach

The program for summer Italian study on the Mediterranean:  one week of daily classes integrated into an laid-back week of vacation in the Cinque Terre and Italian Riviera!

We offer you what other Italian programs can’t.  15 hours of intensive classes for intermediate or upper-intermediate students at a range of prices depending on how you prefer to spend your holidays: on the cheap, or in luxury.  At Voyager, we can handle all tastes.  We collaborate with different types of lodging in Levanto and can arrange for your stay according to your preferences.  Hotels, Agriturismi, B&Bs, Apartments, Hostels, even Campgrounds are at your disposal, and we make all arrangements for you.  In addition, you have all the advantages of having knowledgeable local guides to consult for everything during your stay, from trails to scooter rental, from restaurants to Scuba schools.

The Italian lessons are taught exclusively by a licensed, experienced Italian teacher with years of experience teaching Italian to university students and business professionals, and who speaks English fluently.  Classes are designed to privilege speaking and listening, rather than grammar and exercises.  The maximum number of participants is 12, guaranteeing close attention to all students.  Smaller groups that prefer more private lessons can make personal arrangements with Voyager on request.

A typical day:  9-1030 lesson
        1030-1600 free
        1600-1630 regrouping for coffee or tea in a local café
        1630-1800 lesson

All Italian language materials are provided by Voyager.  We do not use, nor do we expect you to have, any published textbooks.  All material is created and copyrighted by Voyager for the level and modality of instruction of your conversation course.

Twice a week, there are organized daytime excursions that participants may reserve in advance if they want to join up.  These activities are:
•    1 guided hike (in English) in the Cinque Terre National Park with a stop for wine tasting.
•    1 boat trip to visit the hidden bays, beaches, and grottoes along the coastline, with snorkeling and swimming.

All On the Beach Summer Sessions begin on Sunday evening with an inaugural aperitivo for students, and end Friday afternoon after the final lesson, and therefore consist of five full days and nights in Levanto.
